Policies and Principles
The policy of Kavarii is simple, you as the creator have an open forum to express your opinions without fear of censorship. This is the foundation of the Kavarii platform, as we want users to feel safe in expressing themselves and building their audience. Because Kavarii operates solely on user-provided content we fall under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act which states the following:
"No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider"
This essentially states that Kavarii is not responsible for user-uploaded content for internet platforms. With Kavarii, no content is ever uploaded to the platform, rather it is created and stored on the blockchain. Kavarii is just a user interface that connects users with the blockchain.
With that being said, Kavarii DOES NOT allow certain media to be displayed on the website. Anything illegal or "obscene" by US standards are prohibited. These types of content are as follows:
- Child Sex Abuse Material (CSAM)
- Hate Speech
- Commercial Scams
- Breaches of intellectual property rights
- Child grooming activities
- Harassment or cyberbullying
These are forbidden on the Kavarii platform, but outside of these previously mentioned rules users have the freedom to post and discuss what they wish.
If the vote will result in hiding the content, the address used for upload will be blacklisted therefore removing the ability for that address to upload content in the future which in itself should act as a deterrent for creators to not upload harmful content in the first place.
