Engagement
There is a cost involved to engage with the Kavarii platform, this cost is in the form of the KVRI token. When liking a video, a user will send KVRI tokens directly to the creator. This allows the creators to earn with their very first like, unlike other platforms where users can’t earn until they have hundreds of thousands if not millions of likes and views. It also allows Kavarii to not have a need for intrusive and annoying ads. Other benefits include the ability to avoid spamming like building a fake audience as it would cost the spammer money. All engagement will have this functionality to benefit both the creator and user, for instance, if disliking a video the user sends tokens to the user rewards pool which allows all users on the platform the ability to earn.
Supply and demand at its finest from both sides of the coin. The user wants to watch valuable, entertaining content from creators they know and love. The creator needs users to support them via likes, subs, and tips. Without quality content, the users will be forced to watch and support other creators. Without the support from the community, the creator has to increase the production of their content.
Engaging with user content is the cornerstone of the Kavarii Platform. This is what allows creators to earn from providing valuable content. The different types of engagement are as follows:
- Like
- Dislike
- Subscribe
- Report
- Tip
Liking a Video
Liking videos is a great way for users to see how valuable a video is, in doing so it allows creators to earn KVRI tokens so they do not need to host intrusive ads which ruin the user experience. Each Like will send 7 KVRI tokens from your wallet directly to the creator. This process will require you to send one transaction to the blockchain. This is an innovative feature of Kavarii that serves multiple purposes, for instance.. It reduces the bots and spam likes on a video so you can get an accurate depiction of how valuable the content is. It rewards the creators for creating valuable content and motivates them to put as much effort into their work as possible. It removes the need for annoying 3rd party ads and more!
Dislike a Video
In the same way, the Like function works, it requires you, the user to sign one transaction and send KVRI tokens to dislike a video. The major difference is, that the token does not get sent to the creator for a dislike, but instead sends it to the User Rewards Pool (URP) to be distributed amongst the users on the platform to reward them for engaging.
To learn more about the User Rewards Pool see User Rewards Pool
Disliking a video is a good way to show dis-pleasure for certain content and show other users that the content may not be as valuable. The Kavarii algorithms also uses this metric to decide what content should be recommended to other users.
Subscribing to a Channel
Similar to other video-sharing platforms, users can subscribe to channels they want to follow. This function also requires one transaction and sends KVRI tokens to the channel owner as a reward for their content. Users can then see a list of channels they subscribe to so they can stay up to date with their favorite creators.
Reporting a Video
This is what governs the Kavarii platform and protects against illegal content and abuse. In order to report a video, a user will have to send one transaction to the blockchain, which will add one report to the video. Then our smart contract will dictate if the video has been reported enough to be blocked from the interface or not. In order for the video to be added to the block list, it will need to stay within the boundaries of our community set ratio. To start, the ratio looks at how much engagement a video has.
This is done to dictate whether the video is just controversial, or illegal and needs to be blocked. We want people to be able to create opinion-based content without the fear of being cancelled and with current tech platforms we the users, have no control over this. But, with Kavarii the users are in control.
The initial ratio will compare the likes and reports to dictate if the video is going to be blocked so a user cannot spam report a popular video to be taken down because they don't like or agree with it. This ratio is set by the Kavarii Advisory Council and the Kavarii Community Dao. We also have the Kavarii Abuse Program (KAP), which helps monitor and advise the council and DAO and what content needs to be examined.
Tip's
Users have the ability to Tip content creators, this is similar to liking a video but allows for a custom amount of KVRI to be sent directly to the creator. There is no minimum or maximum amount of KVRI tokens a user can send.
